Series
Below, I present some of the series I created over the years. Some are longer, some are shorter. There's no specific size for a series. Also, I do not know when a series will end. It all depends on how I feel about it.
Coimbra
I live in the District of Coimbra, in central Portugal. For several decades, I've worked there as well, as a University Professor. So, I know the city as the palm of my hand, and it inspired several of my paintings. Here are some of them.
Sky
The sky is an ever-changing canvas, a living theatre of light, colour, and movement. It would be impossible for me not to do several paintings using this theme. The sky shelters our world, connects us all beneath a shared expanse, and reminds us of our place in the vastness of the Universe. Here you can enjoy some of my interpretations of the sky.
Sea
The sea has long fascinated artists as a symbol of both power and serenity, its ever-changing moods mirroring the human spirit. The paintings in this series invite viewers to contemplate the sea as a timeless presence that connects us, humans, with the natural world.
Óbidos
I really like going to Óbidos, a beautifully preserved medieval village in central Portugal, known for its whitewashed houses, cobblestone streets, and ancient castle walls that encircle the entire village. Naturally, I have several paintings about Óbidos that you can find here.
London
After a short visit to London, in May 2025, I felt the need to do some paintings using this great city as theme. Here they are.
Sacred art
I like painting religious motives. This series comprises paintings that bridge the gap between the timeless narratives of sacred art and a modern perspective.
Famous painters
This series is both a visual and an emotional journey that explores the faces of some of the great masters of painting. In the paintings you find here, you can look into the soul of artists who have shaped the history of art.
